Since we are a project based learning school, to help us learn more about the phases of matter we did a project called the floating lanterns where we grabbed candles and placed them in an even wooden cross and waited for the bag to fill. At first the bag kept falling down because of the lack of pressure so we waited and waited until the gas particles started to counteract the particles pushing down. Once the bag heated up to a pretty good amount it started to just stay in place until it fully filled with heat it lost most of it's density and started to float up because it had positive buoyancy. Our bag was the most successful out of the class because it got their faster and it floated way higher than any of the other ones also didn't catch on fire unlike the other ones. It was better because of the way we placed the candles and distributed the weight between the cross.
